Why is the MDX made with "power assisted" steering, as opposed to full, power steering?

Is there any advantage to NOT having power steering?

Thanks for your replies,

BETTER ROAD FEEL

Power assisted steering is suppose to give you better road feedback than full power steering. Many US luxury cars have full power steering and you can't feel a thing going fast thru a corner. No feedback to help you realize you are going too fast. With power assisted, you will feel greater wheel pull back to center the faster you go. And if you hit a slippery patch in the turn, you'll know it. MUCH BETTER SYSTEM!! The MDX road feel is pretty good.

Happy MDXing!!!
