Hey everyone!
We had a blast in the sand on the outerbanks in N.C.
I got about 23.5 mpg on a 700 mile round trip from MD.
I hope that the photo comes through, I am new at this scanner stuff.

Came through great. Man, that looks like a blast. Anyone in CA know if they still allow cars on Pismo?

Worm,
It was great!, I hope that you find somewhere to take your
black beauty. All the coats of Zaino helped to repel the salt and sand, underneath/underhood/interior have been a detailers nightmare-but it gives me an excuse to get out and buff it up.

ghost & JIMDX

ghost... Sorry, the shot of your MDX in front of your house (not cabin) has been replaced as wallpaper, at least for the time being.

JIMDX... Great photo of your MDX. It really makes me want to jump in and drive. Congratulations on achieving wallpaper status on my PC!

I can see a line of about 20 MDX's driving down a beach.....:D :D :D

Greatpix JIMDX!
Glad to see you finally getting to enjoy your MDX after waiting even longer than I did. I hope I get a chance to get out on the sand too! It's a long ride to Corolla from MD, I wonder if I can drive on Assateague Near OC?

JIMDX, What a GREAT photo...seems

you are really good with the scanner. Man, you have my vote for the BEST shot on the site.
REALLY COOL...thanks for providing it to us to view...looks professional...ACURA should pay you to use it.

Thanks again.

very cool!

Nice job. I too was on the OBX in Corolla a few
weeks back. Too chicken to take her on the sand (<25 days old) Looks like you didn't have any problems.

To JIMDX and NCMdxer

STOP IT, You're killing me. We spent a week in OBX in June, returned on the 19th, and got our MDX the 25th. We loved the area, and saw a lot of MDX's there, but we had to drive my wife's Camry on the 1200 mile trip. The only good part was that we got over 30 mpg. We're making up for it now and thoroghly enjoying our new truck.

JIMDX SITING IN HAWAII!

Aloha,

We are vacationing on the "Big Island" of Hawaii and I have been missing my MDX so much. (Our rental is an Explorer.) Here I have been looking for MDX's and saw none all week, then suddenly, here comes JIMDX barrelling down the Kohala Coast! Where will he show up next?

What a Great shot !!
OK, now you are on to me! I'll go anywhere in an attempt to VOID my warranty!
Is this gonna become a "where in the world is JIMDX" topic? I like the thought, but don't tell my wife that I go to these exotic places without her;)
Well done, Thanks!

Great shot! We're heading down to Corolla at the end of this month and I can't wait to get my MDX on the beach! My Explorer was great on the loose sand so I can't wait to compare the two vehicles. I still have a picture on my desk of me and the Explorer on the beach -- can't wait to replace it!

Rick,
Hit the beach/soft sand running and already locked in VTM4 high and head straight for the packed stuff until you get the feel with the new ride. If you stop in the soft sand you won't get started again and the MDX will dig itself a nice hole. Saw a Benz requiring a tow out of the soft stuff. Enjoy, and don't forget to rinse under the hood after your romp, I am still picking sand out of everywhere :)

Did you deflate your tires when you were in the sand? Just curious because you said you got stuck in loose sand. I am thinking about taking my X on the beach but not convinced that it will handle it as well as my old SUV.
Rick - I'll be really interested in how you make out. Make sure you let us know.

Yes I did the deflation thing, but when you stop to engage the awd system in the deep soft stuff-you are looking for trouble. If you hit the beach in awd and keep moving down to the packed wet sand you can then test the beach as tolerated. :4:

Great Picture:20: :20:

I think we should start a picture of the week for the home page to go along with the MDX of the week.

You got my vote for picture of the week.
