Feel the MDX needs some offset colors. Like some SUV's have different color bumpers and lower side molding/cladding. Getting Granite Green MDX in couple weeks, and am thinking of getting black body side molding, not matching color. Also, will order painted fender flares from Hondacuraworld, and am trying to visualize what black would look like, instead of granite green. Or, maybe even the Silver Metallic as the flare color? Has anyone else done this??

I have not done it ...

... but I too have thought about it. In fact I started a thread over in accessories asking this exact same question a while back.

I prefer the OEM side steps to the Maniks (especially in light of all the pad trouble with the Maniks) however they come in Black only. I love the Chrome look. Others have had the OEM steps powdercoated but that is quit expensive.

I considered getting Black moldings and black steps to do just what you are thinking about doing. The feedback I got in my thread (which was not a whole lot) was mostly negative.

I am still undecided. I think it is an interesting thought.

There's a few of them that has NON matching flares. Here is one of them which belogs to Remery. There is another one, I think it was a GG or Silver that had the GRAY flares. Forgot who it was. i know he/she was from NYC. See Remery's Mahagany below.

Granite Green w/ Black BSM's

I found this pic on this site and did a quick work up to illustrate the black BSMs on the Granite Green. Overall, I don't think that black, as a color, would look bad at all. However, I think the paint lustre on the BSMs would make it look mismatched. If it were a 'flat' black, I think it would be better....JMHO.
