just receiced my new 2002 mdx tour w/nav last week. all ny dealerships are at least $1500-$3000 over msrp. i've shopped for over a year. if want to pay msrp on the head you would have to go to ther southern states. conn was willing to sell at msrp but a 6 month wait nj is the same i was able to negiotiate to 1500 over msrp with taking just about all options and got killed on those side steps wood trim meter wood wheel wood knob tailgate the front lower trim really got hit on that one plus the all season mats wheel locks cargo tray and net you have to pay the price if you want the suv this years at least i believe when they get the new plant in operation that is supposed to put out only mdx then the supply will increase to dealer now that they come out with the odessey and mdx at one plant they cannot fill the demand dealers are allocated certain number of mdx and they come and go fast being that they have a unique product which is excellent in every way my main concern was gas mileage with the interior width of vehicle nav bose radio and at least 240 hp. which the mdx had it and no competitors could come close even the mercedes and bmw too small too tall mdx perfect . good luck with the dealer in the tri-state area its really tough:mad:

I live in upstate NY and the dealer I'm using (John Holtz in Rochester) is charging MSRP. I believe Crest Acura in Syracuse is the same.
pricin upstate versus city,suburb area

yes if you do go far upstate it is possible to get for msrp but when you get closer to city impossible i tried westchester county and rockland and had no luck at msrp or if they said they would sell it to me it was at least a 6 month wait but again possible if you go farther from city and the demand may be less for the vehicle and people further from city they know will not go over msrp which i shouldn't have but loved the suv :D
We ordered a 2001 in April and was told July or August delivery at MSRP in North Haven, CT. Canceled order in July and reordered a 2002 due to wind noise, etc. Received a base at list plus they threw in roof rack but had to wait til November 2002. For those wanting MSRP, try Acura by Executive, North Haven, CT.

Dude...that is WRONG...Just Wrong. You know as much as I like Acura and some of the fine dealerships that are doing business out there...Sometimes...when the economy of scale creates an opporunity for dealerships...it really hurts us enthusiasts pocket...I mean its bad enough I paid for 40K car but to also pay 3K over what a manufacturer is tell you what the car should cost??? GREED!!! that is all there is to it.
DAMN IT you car sales people. YOU SUCK!
sanman is isn't pretty here

it's a tough market especially where it get colder and has snow. that makes the mdx go for even higher prices. in california and florida you guys are getting better deals because of warmer wheather. in new york if you go much farther from the city in the country upstate there are better deals but close to the city it's murder here. agai it's supply and demand some dealers will tell you the price you want to hear but never deliver the car or wait 10-12 months. were in trouble until they open that new plant especially for mdx production. now they are comming out of the same plant plant as honda odessey, and they not pumping out enough for the demand:eek:
The price pumps up

You can easily find the price goes up from carsdirect.com. It was 1K more than MSRP 1-month ago (NY area) and now it pumps up to MSRP+3.5K. No change in CA area during the same period.
Acura for Sale

You are all right. However, I found a dealership in Langhore PA that sells at list price. Davis Acura. That is where I got mine. However, I am now selling it if anyone wants to avoid the wait.

Here is my listing for the truck

Avoid the dealer markup of $3,000 or more $ and the 6 month wait. A

Try Westchester. MSRP and about 4 month wait. I'm picking mine up from Metro Acura in Philly. MSRP and it was only 3 months. Then there is Denville, NJ, MSRP about 4 months.
New York and New Jersey

they tell you 4 months but let me know when they actually get it. when the suv comes in you will have to renegiotiate the price. good luck with philly i bet they will come thru with it. i wouldn't count on NY and NJ i've seen it before!!!!
