I'm a new MDX owner. My Honda Ridgeline was scrapped after owning it for 8 years bc I hit a deer. I just bought a 2013 Acura MDX. Super comfortable. I just found a message dating back to August 2019 saying low oil pressure warning when checking the diagnostics. The engine seems fine to me. Should I be concerned?

Welcome!

I have a 11 MDX Adv since 2014. The +10 MDXs do occasionally have a faulty oil pressure sensor. Another issue that may/may not be related is the +10 MDX excessive oil consumption because of the types of sleeves used for the cylinders heads. It can be as bad as 1 qt per 1000 miles. I'm only at around 1 quart per 8000-9000 miles during the normal oil change intervals with Mobil 1 5w-20.

There is an 100,000 miles extended warranty to fix the issue with Acura. Your MDX just have to pass (or fail) an oil consumption test to see if you are in the 1 qt per 1000 miles range. Some folks did the test late summer and still waiting on parts for the fix now.
