does anyone know about this Pioneer Navigation Package system?

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/Pioneer/CDA/CarProducts/CarProductDetails/0,1429,34228,00.html

i was surfing the web and just happen to see it at http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?store=&stk_code=pionavsys900dvd for $1,769.99

that sounds like a pretty good deal for those with a base model looking for a navigation system addition. if i'm not reading it wrong, the package is a receiver, cd player with motorized 6.5" screen, navigation unit with dvd playback capability and steering wheel control. the navigation unit uses 8.5gb dual layer dvd that includes then entire map of US and Canada; but only 2million POI.

i haven't looked into these navigation units as much as vicpai might have but this package does sound pretty good for the price.

We got the same Pioneer navigation/dvd system in August for my wife's Passat. At the time it was $1900, and that was by far the cheapest around (via eBay seller in NY). I would highly recommend it, although the remote controls most of the functions, and the buttons are kind of small.

Stick to the Alpine System, I've heard alot of good things compared to the other systems. Alpine is next best to the Acura system.

tell me why. the pioneer is the only one that offers the vocie recognition. i understand the alpine is pretty good but for the cost savings i still think the pioneer is well worth it.
