I call the voice "Donna." I have gotten too may inquisitive people asking me when I am on my cell phone, who is with me in the car.
Threw my wife for a loop the first time she heard "Donna". "Who's Donna?????" she asked indignantly. I let her stew for a while....heh heh heh.
I started calling my NAV "Mabel" because she was too human not to have a name and "Mabel" seemed to fit.
I'm wondering if anyone else has named their NAV and if so, what name did you choose?

Yup,

Yup -- I named mine 'Ruby', because I have a redrock, and it looks a little like a ruby.....

Guess you won't be too surprise to hear that I refer to mine as "Tootsie" but no spousel accusations to date!;) ;)
Natalie. Miss Natalie Navigation.
Mine's Rhonda (as in "Help me, Rhonda!").

My wife has a TL with Navi and named hers Violet ('cause that's her favorite color).
My brother called his Nav..."MOTHER" it is the name of the central computer system that ran the ship Nostradamus in the movie ALIEN.

HEHEHE it is kinda cool cause if you think about it...The voice does sound like the voice of that computer in the movie.
Wife named ours "Joy" because of her continually-upbeat voice. The "nav lady" in our Lexus remains nameless, even after 2.5 years. Poor girl.
Why on Earth do we do these things?

We named our happy little Nav voice "Trudy." And I have no idea why. But, Trudy it is!:D
Not sure why...

... but I call her Nancy Nav

Wade
I can't believe all these completely unsexy names! Come on, people! :D
You people are ridiculous! Naming your cars navigation system? Man, get a grip!

(Ours is HAL--c'mon, think back...didn't HAL sound kind of feminine when he said, "I am completely operational and all my circuits are functioning perfectly.")

Rob

Worm,
You missed your calling as moderator and forum stimulus. Navi voice comparo - what a great idea for yet another lively thread diminishing the competition. :) We've compared price, 4WD systems, interiors, warranties, brakes, VSC systems or not, service and virtually any other attribute that comes to mind but not navi system voices.:D Go for it dude!

Hmmm, how can you in good conscience claim anything associated with a Lexus is "poor?" Kinda like Bill Gates trying to buy filet mignon with food stamps!
We call the MDX Nav Pixie becuase her voice reminds us of a Disney Character. The BMW Nav is called Rhonda as in the Beach Boys song, "Help, help me, Rhonda..." Interestingly, Rhonda apparently is a Northeast gal as she says "One qwarter of a mile" rather than "one quarter of a mile..."

OK, Rem. I cut-n-pasted these from lester89's homeboard:

- we call ours "Star" because we use her for directions to the service department more than anywhere else.

- we call ours "Chameleon" because we're continually changing CDs every time we cross state lines.

- we call ours "Stranger" because we don't know her too well; she spends more time at the dealer than at home.

- we call ours "Baby" because she travels with a lot of rattles.

- we call ours "Sunny" because we use her to find clear skies when our window switch breaks and it's raining out.
Oh sure......

all these ladies have talent BUT, how do they look in a swimsuit and an evening gown? Perhaps a Miss Navigation USA pageant is in order? Just think of all the wonderful "gallery" pics! :D :D :D

Did you come up with these on the fly, Worm? I'm impressed!

A bargain even at twice the price, IMO :)
My wife named our Nav "Suzanne Sugarbaker" (from the show Designing Women) because Miss Nav alway wants to have her way!
