Which Meguiars products did you use -- and why were they your choice over other Meguiars products? Just curious...

Meguiars

Frotyra-

Here is what I use:

1) Meguiar's GOLD car wash gel with conditioners
2)Meguiar's wheel cleaner-Spray bottle
3)Meguiar's professional series Cleaner- Step #1 (Please Note: since my vehicle is new...I ONLY use this step for front of bumber, roof and sometimes hood...Areas where it is exposed to bird droppings, bug splatters and other environmental residues)
4)Meguiar's professional series- Step #2 polish
5) Meguiar's professional series- Step #3 carnauba wax-liquid form.

For the paint finish I have three different sponge applicators I use. For each application steps I also use different Microfibre buffing pads to wipe off/polish each of the steps.

for the wheels I used a wool mitten to wash the wheels. After the wash...I used the Absorber to dry the vehicle.

For the interior..I use Lexol vinyl for the dash and door panels. For the leather I use either Lexol or Wilson's cleaner then follow by the leather protectant and conditioner.

For the air vents...I used a computer aerosol can that I spray to loosent the dust that accumulated on the vents and then use a wet/dry vacuum to finish the cleaning. For the carpet..I used a good Hoover multipurpose vaccuum with nozzle accessories to get in tight corners and crevices.

For the tires...I just use SON of a GUN. For the engine bay..I used a cotton towel to wipe dusts, excess water and such...Any dust accumulation with engine grime..I use Simple Green.

No Dawn wash?

I'm not going to be waxing soon, but want to know what to wash it with until I feel ready to do a Dawn-Zaino. Will Meguiar's GOLD car wash gel strip any coating that will require an immediate wax like Dawn does? Thanx!

wow. i just have to say that your mdx isn't black anymore. it's "oh my god that's black!" sort of corny but oh well.
POGIMDX-

You know the most intriguing thing about this Acura black is that when detailed appropriately, under certain light conditions it looks like midnight pearl and in certain light it is shiny black...

Fireblade6, where did you by your meguiars products?
I have swirl marks from the dealer, will this take them out?
Just me...How are you? If you have swirl marks on your MDX you need to becareful what products you will be using on your black MDX because swirls are the darkest evil against black color especially on clear coat....

For fine scratches and swirls...after washing it with a good shampoo like Meguiar's gold shampoor or SoftGel liquid wash<---Actual brand name... dry it and look at your swirls at certan angles and run the tip of your finger nail over the swirls in a 90 degree angle or perpendicular direction..if your nail does not skip over the swirl then you can use a fine swirl remover to get rid of the swirls...what I do for some fine scrathes is that I first use 3M swirl remover...then 3M 1500 grit liquid cleaner wax...then Meguiar's cleaner wax...then Meguiar's stage 2 Polish to replinish the minerals on the surface...and then Mequiar's gold carnauba wax....You will totally notice a difference...Please be patient...as this process is labor intensive...it is well worth it. :)

Zafer-

NEVER EVER use dish washing soap on your vehicle UNLESS you intend to do a 100% detail job on your car...
Dawn or any dish washing liquid has chemical agents in them that will strip not only your wax on your clear coat but ultimately harden your clear coat causing microsopic cracks on the surface of your vehicle that will allow environmental elements such as dampness, water, ultraviolet rays to dry out your paint and cause it to go dull and peel...Remember...today's paint technology especially clear coat ARE WET PAINT...people think that because your car is painted and that it feels dry...it really isnt...

So I recommend using a fine auto shampoo for your vehicle to keep the surface free of dirt and other elements that cause the surface to age. Mequiar's gold liquid wash is excellent and so is SoftGel liquid soft and other brand you will find specially design for vehicles...These soaps do not strip wax they will only lift dirt off of the surface and gently condition your paint to keep that shine..

And as for swirls -- the easiest way to wax and polish a car, while at the same time preventing swirls, is to use an orbital buffer. I use the 9" Sears (with Meguiar's). It's much less hard work, much less time-consuming, and the WOW coefficient is just as high as with the meticulous takes-all-weekend process (I'm too old for that stuff!).
