Just got on the waiting list for a 2002 model and will soon have to think about accessories. Was interested in starting a poll of the more popular ones. My initial thought was to get mud flaps, cargo cover and possibly nose mask.

Mud Flaps

Don't get me started on how in the world rear mud flaps could be considered an accessory item on a $40k luxury vehicle! Particularly when the front flaps are supplied as standard equipment.

I have these and the towing package. I think the rear mud flaps are a necessity. I got the towing package primarily to have added transmission cooling and to have towing ability if I decide to get another boat or need a trailer to help the kids in their constant college/home/college trek. The transmission cooling phobia comes from my past experience w/ a 1990 Toyota 4-Runner that was replaced by my MDX.

I agree with you that it SHOULD be standard equipment, but unfortunately it isn't. Same goes for a cargo cover - it was with my Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited.
Yep, mud flaps should be standard. Weird thing is that the BMW X5, which is even more expensive, doesn't come with them either, IIRC.
Yeah,

I'd say the first accessories should be rear muf flaps, moon roof deflector, (and if you plan to carry any cargo) cargo cover and cargo net.

The rear mud flaps, moon roof deflector and cargo cover should be standard I think.... just my $.02
Ditto the cargo stuff

I think the cargo cover and net are necessities period. One always carries "cargo." Since the MDX only has a tailgate that lifts (as opposed to say a window that opens!!) you need the cargo net to keep stuff from falling out!
Inexpensive items ...

... such as wheel locks and rear flaps have been given away free to quit a few buyers:D

I'd ask for items such as these.
Just came back from vacation today, but if I get chance I'll compile a list of my to-date internet accessories sales....that should give everyone a good idea of what the top movers are.
I have rear mud flaps but I didn't order them..... might be a free dealer installed option.
I've compiled my list of accessories sales, and I thought, "as long as I have these figures, I could make a little contest out of this, and give something away", but I don't want to be irreverent to the events of the past week. So, I ask for your opinions.
Tim, I appreciate and applaud your sensitivity to the situation but I don't think there is anything disrespectful about the poll or an award of a prize. Although we all were sulking, depressed, grieving, etc. last week, at some point we must go on with life. I certainly would be interested in the results. I cast my vote in favor of your plans.
I concur w/A2. I don't see it as insensitive.
Alrighty then.....I'll be posting a thread in the General category!
touring with navagation a must

side steps, lower trim, all wood options, tailgate, might consider the aftermarket sidesteps can get cromed to match the wheels i actually like the black to match my color of black/ebony, all season mats are great there are better than any aftermarket out there, wheel locks a must, on the lower trim i added as a proction for the front end instead of using masks which destroy paint. it was very costly but i felt worth it for protection rear mus guards which should of been standard on luxury vehicle. flares didn't care for the look on the fenders it was too much for the vehicle i would pass on fender flares. best of luck i love mine it excellent and a unique vehicle worth the wait it took 2 months for mine and have to pay above msrp to get but worth every penny:D :D :D :D :D :D
My signature says it all...
