I went to a local shop to have my mud guards painted body color today. When the guy took off the two front mud guards, what do you know? I saw a square 3 x 3 metal piece on the left hand side of the car where the mud guard screwed on, but it was missing from the right side. Does anyone know what that is? And, I am missing something on the right? I just picked up my car on Tuesday.

I'll take a look at mine this weekend. One of things I noticed when installing my REAR mud guards is that the scres were all stripped out during instllation. I guess the machine was set to high a torque rating and stripped out the philips head screws. I just replaced them with others...

My silver/touring/navi was just delivered on 22nd.
Must be from the same bulit date 02/09-02/13.
I got mind splash guard painted at dealer.
I saw a metal plate for left & right side where the splash guards are.
