I wish someone would post a video review detailing before and after comparisons of a JB4 on a Type S MDX.
Any takers?

Never timed it, but based on seat of the pants feeling in just tune 1 and 2, it is well won't it.Did the 0-60 times improved with the JB4? Im thinking to get one for my type s

It's a 4-5.5psi boost on the turbo, way way more power at all rpm and a much more potent top end.
It's not like some tuner boxes that are just slightly different (although everything is customizable so you can be as conservative or aggressive as you want)
I had my jb4 off for a month ish while I was waiting for my sunroof parts to come in, it was instantly noticeable when I took it off, and a very happy day when I got it back.
All that to say, I don't think a video would tell you much. This is the most difference I've ever gotten on a jb4, my s5 and gti were much better but not as much extra power.
No rudeness taken... Part of what drove me toward a Type S was all the Youtube videos. Whenever I buy something, I always like seeing a video review just as a standard for me. I'm not all that familiar with modding cars, so seeing vs reading tends to do more for me. And even when I have full detailed instructions in writing, seeing a install video on the exact product helps me understand better what to do.It's not like some tuner boxes that are just slightly different (although everything is customizable so you can be as conservative or aggressive as you want)

We need a test drive in your car 😆What do you want to know? (Sorry not trying to sound rude)

Put on the upper yesterday but could not get my hand to the lower, did you pull the lower from the bottom or the top of the engine bay. Didn't feel like pulling the covers off the bottom to try that last night.Any reviews from those who have installed the PRL intake and charge pipes mod? Looking to see what everyone thinks of changes in driving experience. I just did mine this past weekend, so have limited miles. Maybe it’s a placebo, but initial throttle response seems slightly better. Curious if anyone dyno’d just these mods for some imperial proof of the minor gains. Also, big thanks to those who posted about install. Without that knowledge getting the hot side charge pipe clamp into the IC would have been a much bigger pain in the ass.
Removed from the top - its a squeeze and its done blind. I couldn't see the clamp fastener, but could feel it. Used a 1/4" drive ratchet/socket.Put on the upper yesterday but could not get my hand to the lower, did you pull the lower from the bottom or the top of the engine bay. Thanks, got some pretty big hands on me, I'll give it another try, if not I will just suck it up and removed the panelsRemoved from the top - its a squeeze and its done blind. I couldn't see the clamp fastener, but could feel it. Used a 1/4" drive ratchet/socket.
I just bought a 2023 MDX Type S Advance and picking it up Friday. I have been eyeing these posts for months now. I was cinsidering getting a JB4 and PRL intake and charge pipes. You think I should wait to get some miles on the car beforehand or just go ahead and get the stuff? Also I seen some folks having hard shifts with the trans and folks saying change the fuel bias. Have you had these issues with trans slipping or shifting hard and had to change fuel bias or just left it as is from factory? What do you want to know? (Sorry not trying to sound rude)

I put my jb4 on at 500 miles or so, I don't really believe in break in period but I never push the car when it's not warmed up.I just bought a 2023 MDX Type S Advance and picking it up Friday. Good advice. What did you change the fuel bias too?? Vs where it was when you got the device?I put my jb4 on at 500 miles or so, I don't really believe in break in period but I never push the car when it's not warmed up.
That said, I think you should make sure that the car is in good mechanical condition and problem free before installing.
I had the hard shifts occasionally, changing fuel bias fixed it. It was not really a big deal before the fuel bias change and now it's gone.
There is the known issue with the trans that you can't get to go away, where if you floor it while turning 90 degrees from stop it will slam into the Rev limiter at the top of 2nd. We don't know if it's a safety lockout or unintentional but it's programmed into the trans and 100% repeatable. That said you can easily drive around it if you know about it by only pushing the throttle full when the wheel is on its way back to center.
I forgot to look on my drive and I cant see it while I'm not connected to the JB4.Good advice. What did you change the fuel bias too?? Vs where it was when you got the device?
Cool when you look into the device and let me know when you get a chance?I forgot to look on my drive and I cant see it while I'm not connected to the JB4.
Someone on the board posted that it should be set to 40, but I felt that was too lean for a starting point. So I set it to 50 or 60 but I cant remember. Either way, what I set worked.
I must have misremembered the setting because my fuel bias is at 40. Duty cycle is 50 (which I believe is the default)Cool when you look into the device and let me know when you get a chance?
Ok cool. Im going to set mine at that. Just placed the order today. I asked if the JB4 reads AFR realtime and they said it does and its not a target its real AFR.I must have misremembered the setting because my fuel bias is at 40. Duty cycle is 50 (which I believe is the default)
No noticeable difference. I get terrible mileage though. On 9k miles average 16.4mpg and that's with the long highway trips dragging up the average.Ok cool. Im going to set mine at that. Does it get better mog since you leaned it up with 40 fuel bias?
Dang.....lololNo noticeable difference. I get terrible mileage though. On 9k miles average 16.4mpg and that's with the long highway trips dragging up the average.
Soooooo....finally installed the JB4 and went to map 2 and wow!! It should have came from the factory like this! My fuel bias is set to 70 all around. Did you change your fuel bias or just leave it? I seen on the JB4 forums he recommended one of the fello mdx type S guy to change it to 40 and start there. No noticeable difference. I get terrible mileage though.
