Hey all,
OK, tomorrow is the first birthday of my MDX - on Nov 30, 2000 I drove down to the Twin Cities with our '89 Camry thinking a single thought: "I am not driving this car home".
After several months of SUV analysis, and recently discovering the MDX, I set my sights on that car. I called a dealer, who said there's a 3 month wait (this was the early days of MDXs) I said "I'll think about it."
Half an hour later I called him back, he said "It's gone".
Next day, he called me, said "It's back". I said "Here's $500 on my Visa, hang on to it."
Ten days later, I came, I saw, I traded the Toyota.
So, in honor of this great event , I'm hosting the first MDX birthday party over in the Chat section of this site (courtesy of webmaster Daniel).
So come as you are, about 9:30 CST, we'll party to the wee hours of the morning (that would be roughly 10:20 for me). I plan to bring a few of my single malt scotches, there's a particularly nice one I picked up at World of Whiskeys in Heathrow (the English are so bizzare), recommended by a true Scotsman (has anyone noticed the Scots are completely incomprehensible? I know Estonians that speak better English than the Scots - but I digress, as you can tell by the multiply-nested paranthetical expressions))
In any event, I invite all MD.ORG members, the old ones, the really really old ones (you know who you are

), the mid and late '01ers, and the increasing new crop of 2002'ers, who may not get the weeping mirrors (what will you have to talk about?), but who are the advance guard of MDX owners.
So here's the invitation - I'll be there - you be there, it'll be fun, ya?
Note here that I can't take responsibility for what happens - come at your own discretion. Me and my Bunnahabhain will be celebrating this last wonderful year. You'll have to bring your own. I'll be happy to chat about things important in the Northland (great snows, Lake Superior, moose, snowshoes, lutefisk, etc), MDXisms and whatever tickles you southerner's fancy.
P.S. you Canooks are invited too, eh?
