What to know the reason why?

Because I dont have my MDX yet and I have all these Ideas running in my head. Mp3 player, dvd entertainment, lots of other things, and my car has not arrived, I keep on doing searches on this great site for things I want to do, and the answers are there!! I dont have my car to do it on, argghhhhh. I think the next 3-4 weeks will be murder, since I know I will be looking and looking at the search results and waiting and waiting. I just got off the phone with my saleman asking how much longer. He assured me no later than mid april, argggh not soon enough.

Im so glad I found this place! All of you from your posts sound like a great bunch, now where is my MDX arghhhh( I sound like a pirate)

Me too, Warzau. Ordered 2/8. Reading the posts in these forums is making the wait tooooo long.

But then I was willing to wait for a Pilot until I found out the salesman, at my most excellent Honda dealer, wasn't telling the truth. (He isn't there anymore.)

I know now that the decision to go for the "X" was the smartest thing I've done about a car in long time. Except maybe for my '79 International Traveller.

Salesman says my MDX should be built between 3/25 & 3/28. Hey, that's less than 2 weeks and maybe I can take delivery by 4/10. I really wanted a TL-S but my wife and the Acura guy talked me into the MDX.

So, what do I do next year when time to replace wife's 2000 Civic? New 6 speed CL-S? Heh, heh, heh.

Been there, felt that

I just wanted to say that I walked the same path you both are walking now. (I've had my Red Rocker 188 for 1 week!)

This is how I got through it.
1.) Researched what accessories I wanted to buy.
2.) Downloaded installation instructions from Tim's site.
3.) Every week I ordered a bunch of stuff from Tim. (BSM, wood shift knob, wood meter trim, etc.) I felt like I was getting the MDX one piece at a time!
4.) Printed out installion tips from members of the board. (An absolute must!) Study them so that you can install them with your eyes closed!
5.) Bury yourself in your work!
6.) Bug your salesman only once a week. Remind him only to install the stuff you agreed to. (Nothing else!) You don't want to be surprised.

Good Luck!

I have sitting in the middle of living room, moonroof visor, cargo cover, rear mud flaps, body side mouldings and have on order base carrier and front air deflector--more goodies to be ordered.

Printed off installation instructions of various other accessories, been going to work at 5:00 a.m., called salesman first couple of weeks but haven't called in 9(!) days. What else can I do? I know, I'll call salesman tomorrow.

Maybe he will tell me the X is being built early. Maybe.......

Wow. I've been waiting for only one week, & I can't stand it. I keep seeing things on this site, & it makes me anxious. I'm glad I didn't go for the 2-3 month wait. They had this one coming in & 2 deals fell through on it. I couldn't make it any longer. I KNOW I'm going to enjoy the "X" when it's here.:D

I'm in the same boat too. Ordered SS Tour/Nav on 12/26. Salesman says it will ship this week - be driving it by the first of April!! Made my list for Tim and placing orders soon.

Even saved the "good news" voicemail from the salesman - listen to it every day as the countdown begins...

My heart was set on one and only one combo: Red Rock 188.

The one I bought was the FIRST Red Rock that I ever saw. As many owners say, the pictures don't do it justice!

The final two weeks before the purchase were terrible! I was trying very hard not to think about it too much!

Now that I have the car and most of the accessories are installed....

I work from home. Which means that I spend my spare time poking my head into the garage and staring at my lovely MDX! I'm like those guys you see on commercials that use any excuse to go to McDonalds. Only I just want to drive my MDX!

Hey Rflagg, I am right there with you. I picked up my red 188 4 weeks ago and it was the first time we had ever seen the red. Actually it is the only red we have seen to this date!

Maybe our reds will cross paths someday in this large city.

USE THE FORCE LUKE:D

You guys have it easy. I remember the old days(winter 1999) when we had little to no info. on the MDX. we were all on the edmunds town hall asking people who might know something. Then somebody went to the N.Y. auto show, and took 3 pics. we all started speculating about length, width, cubic feet, 3rd row seat etc.... Another person in Detroit got yelled at for trying to get on a turntable and measure the 'X.:) It was alot of fun and frustration.:D

btw, i have 2 brochures.

This forum can be expensive

Just be forewarned that this forum can be expensive. I orignally was just going to get touring, thinking 'I can get a lot of mpas for 2k'

After hanging out here for a while, I ended up going with the Navi, and adding the Running boards, TG def, wood shift knob, rear splash guards, BSM, and WT mats. It's really fun to make the car just the way you like it.

If you think waiting is bad, it's really bad when you get the phone call and your salesperson says your vehicle is in and you can pick it up the next day.

That seemed like the longest night in the world. I think I only got 2 hours of sleep that night. I had arranged to pick up the X on my lunch break.

When I arrived it was great to see that nice, shiny new vehicle that seemed like forever to arrive. When you drive off the lot you have this great big smile on your face that makes you feel like a king.:) :D :D :D Then the smile is even bigger when another customer is there inquiring about the X and the only one they can view is yours. As you drive away looking through your rear view mirrors you see the customer staring in amazement
:D :D :D :D

This was the feeling I had yesterday when I picked up mine after waiting 4 months.

My advice to you would be to minimize some of your time on this site. I know it frustrating waiting, but it's worth the wait.

I concur with Davegood, this site can prove to be expensive !!! In fact, I suggest one of those surgeon general type warnings as we sign in, something like "This sight may be hazardous to your wallet and may lead to higher incidences of divorce"

All I can say is be patient, your MDX will come and then you can truly be one of the believers. Until then, feel free to live through proxy through the rest of us.

I did all the things rflagg recommended during the long 5 weeks I waited for my RedRock touring to come in. In addition I printed out all the TSMs from Tim's web site and some of the threads from the Problems forum. When I went to pick it up, I went over it with a fine tooth comb to make sure everything had been prepped correctly (I was buying from a dealer 3 hours away and didn't want to have to go back). The good news is that I didn't find anything wrong. It appears that they have fixed all of the known problems with the 2001 model in the 2002s. However, many of the prep items are done by the local dealer, so it is prudent to check behind them and good to have the TSM to show them how it should be done (if they plead ignorance).
