Hello, B123 popped up. I got the translation but confused about 3 -Replace transmission and transfer fluid*
First I thought transfer fluid is the rear but asked Acura and that's a 6 in Acura code. So the question is: is Replace transmission and transfer fluid* - just the transmission fluid change or is there another transfer case in the front that needs same/diff fluid? Thank you for anything you can share on this. Name of fluid for 3 - extra credit

Transfer case fluid change follows the same service schedule as transmission fluid, but it is a separate (but attached ) assembly with a completely different type of fluid. For transfer case, Honda HGO ( Hypoid Gear Oil ) or any 75w-85, 75w-90 or thereabouts gear oil rated GL-4 or GL-5. Less than a quart needed for a change.

[edit] Transfer case is not the same as rear differential. Transfer case is in the front and directs power from the transmission to the driveshaft that runs to the rear differential.

For 6-speed transmission (2010-2015) Honda/Acura ATF DW-1 unless you really know your fluids. 3 quarts plus a spare to adjust level. If you really want to do it right, three changes with a short drive in between.

2016 and 2017 use a different, very expensive ATF for the ZF 9-speed transmission, Honda/Acura ATF Type 3.1, and the ATF change procedure is rather "particular".
