I am hearing a low groaning sound at the rear of my car when I am at speed and then slowly accelerate a couple more MPH. Any ideas about what this would be? The sound makes it sound like the car is struggling to accelerate, but it doesn't feel like it is struggling.

Could be the rear differential. Give us some more details. Year, miles, and rear diff service history.

This is a 2006, 127060 miles. I was unable to pull up a history on the car. I bought it about a month ago and the rear of the car was already making this noise. I replaced the rear differential fluid last Saturday and the noise didn't go away.

The damage may already be done then or it may be something else like a bearing.
