I've been recently hearing a clunky rattle on my front passenger side when I make turns at low speeds. I had my axle shaft replaced about a year ago but maybe a month ago my wife hit the curb at a pretty high speed. The impact was enough to ruin a tire. I now think that the impact may have also damaged or loosened my axle shaft. When I get under the MDX I can feel how loose the shaft is. My question is, does it need to be replaced or can it be tightened up? In case I'm using the wrong terminology this is the part I'm talking about: https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/find/acura-mdx-drive-shaft-and-axle

There is no "tightening" and axle shaft. Chances are there is significant other damage to the lower control or or hub with that kind of an impact. Time to get a professional evaluation before the whole thing comes apart while you are driving and you are stuck beside the road, your cross the center line, end up in the ditch, or worse.
