Just wondering what type of mileage fellow Canadians are getting with their vehicles.

I have had three tank fulls so far and here are my results:

Tank 1 Combined City/Highway - 14.7L/100kms
Tank 2 Mainly Highway - 12.2L/100kms
Tank 3 All city - 17.1L/100kms

Average with 1200 kms on the X - 14.6L/100kms

No deflectors, have side bars and use 92 octane.

Interested is seeing other results.

I don't have detailed results, but I haven't reset the trip computer for about 6 months, and I'm right now it's at about 15.1. This is mostly city with some long trips (Toronto to Connecticut, Montreal, South Quebec). Some city highway too.

Mileage in Canada

Have had the MDX for close to 10 months now, 18,000 km.

I have just resetted the trip computer, 6500 km, 12.9 l/100 km. Driving is about 30% highway / 70% city. Quick trick: be nice with the gas pedal coming from a full stop :)

I'm getting 15.7 this winter in 100% city driving. I get an average of 9.9 in 100% highway, and about 13.4 in mixed driving. I did manage 9.4 during a 1200 km round-trip from Calgary to Kelowna this past fall; that was awesome!

Have used Shell Optimax Gold since first gulp.

mileage

Best mileage I got with premium fuel was a trip from Regina to Calgary...averaged about 9.8l/100km. Never seen that mileage again....under normal windy conditions about 11.5l/100km. Noticed a difference with premium fuel versus regular. MDX has 12000km

Took it to Toronto weekend after I got my MDX and mileage peaked at 8.7 l/km on trip down. Must have had a tail wind as return was in high 9's. DId push it more on the way back as well. 110 to 120 vs 105.

Now shows 12.9 with city/highway driving.

In the 15 range if all city

Mileage Update

Have 3500 kms on the MDX.

Did a 450 km highway trip this weekend and averaged 11.2L/100 kms.

City driving seems to be in the 15 - 15.5 litre range.

Cheers:)

Premium vs Regular Fuel

Hey Canmdx5,

What kind of difference did u see between using premium and regualr fuel? Was premium better mileage (kilometerage?). I plan on switching between the two depending on the current price at the pumps (hovering around 70c right now for regular). I haven't gone through my first tank yet (virgin gas!). But I'll keep track of the mileage to see the numbers, according to the computer, it's around 14 L/100km for mainly city driving (404 and 401 don't qualify as highway unless u drive between the hours of 11:00pm to 6:00 am). Every other time it's just one big slow crawl

Kilometreage

Had a trip to Tim's in West Seneca today, averaged 12.2 L/100kms between city in Toronto and 200+ km's of highway. I think everyone is pretty much in line in terms of fuel consumption. The most important number I have is I got 93 octane in Buffalo for $1.49USD/G. That's 60c /L in CDN. Big difference from the current price of 80c at Petro Canada:D

nah, just something that I would have liked installed. Kinda like a missile to get rid of all of the slow drivers in front of me:2:

As far as litres/100km......mine always shows bad stats.
I get < 450km per tank, based on my driving habits.

If I fillup when the tanks is only half, then the "range km" show I should be able to drive only 200+ km, yet I'm now on a full tank.
Is mine acting up, anyone else notice this?

I had a similar problem when the range wasn't consistent in the display. It would sometimes show 0 when there was 1/8 of a tank left or show 404 km on a full tank (when I normally get 520). I brought it into the dealer and they replaced the trip computer for me. I did it during a type 2 service and now it's working nicely.

I'll mention it at my 18KM oil change.

If I tell them its displaying wrong info. can they check it or reset it first, without taking everything apart to replace it.

I have concerns about unnecessary rattles if everything is not put back properly, its a fear I have from owning a Chrysler and having the dash taken apart to replace the evaporator.

There are only some many ways to test the comp for consistent readouts. They had me make checks along certain milestones (full tank, half tank, etc) and I was the one that pushed the change out. Computers are very difficult to fix, that's why it's usually better to replace. Acura isn't Chrysler (I used to have one of those POS's too) and the loose rattles just don't exist in my X. Even after I got the trip comp replaced, I took the X for some extra bouncing along dirt paths and noticed no odd sounds so I think they got it pretty secure. The biggest difference is the service mgr of your dealership. If they suck, change to another dealer, mine doesn't question anything I ask, they just provide the service and have been more than accomodating. (Acura East)

my experience with my dealer (Sherway) has been minimal, only regular scheduled oil changes. I'll monitor my readouts and raise the question next time.

I remember with my Chrysler, if the compass was screwed, you would drive around in circles in a parking lot to re-whatever your compass again. maybe they have a "re-boot" quick fix.
