Or do all require a trim ring be made? Furthermore for those of you who have replaced the stock sub, is the stock amp up to task? Or is it lacking?
Thanks

I dunno if there is drop-in sub, or if you'd want to bother with one. The reson that the aftermarket subs memebers have found require the spacer/trim ring is that the stock unit is about the SHALLOWEST sub around. Shallow == small magnet, weak basket reinforcement...

Any even half way decent install shop ought to be able to cut a nice poly, acrylic, or composition board spacer/trim ring for a the price of a McMeal...

Generally the aftermarket subs are very efficent. As the factory sub is 2 ohm, all you would need to consider is sensitivity, and few(no folks ?) have complained about the volume of bass, just it's BOOMING nature (very poorly damped speaker...) ;)
