Its common to have a small amount of oil in the manifold as its part of the Emissions Nature to suck oil fumes from the crankcase.

What its not normal is to have an absurd amount of oil in it that is actually leaking from the manifold.

It is on the end so it gets hotter as not as much cooling available in that area. Add age to equation and you have gasket break down. Just like the end cylinders wear more than the inner cylinders in our engines.

Looks like the end cap is leaking. You could try tightening the bolts; new gaskets; or removing the cover, cleaning and Silicone sealant on the existing gasket.

Then again, maybe it’s just spilled oil. To confirm if it’s the cap, you could clean the area and then see if more leaks out from the edge of the plate or somewhere else.

You didn’t say what year but this picture shows the plate gaskets from an 03 X. It’s the solid, rectangular shaped gaskets.
