they just showed it 10 minutes ago on Dateline. It still hurts to see a brand new MDX blown to pieces :( ... Especially considering some people are still waiting to get their own delivered :p

It was obviously the best of this test round. Interestingly, the explorer who was shown second and still got a "good" rating as well as a best pick could still get its driver a broken feet... Not as bad as a commotion with the Pontiac Aztek (you mean, it's ugly AND unsafe  ) but still...

Of course, the best part is when they show the MDX and say that this is what EVERYBODY should try for.

...And, of course, we all knew that... :D :D :D

As stated in another thread, the IIHS crash test results for the MDX have been available since September. What's new are some of the vehicles now being mentioned like the Explorer.

Note that the Explorer did poorly in its first test so Ford had to go back and re-engineer it somewhat in order to earn its "Good." Makes you wonder how those initial Explorer buyers must feel!

Here's the summary of all mid-sized SUV's tested. The MDX places second overall, just behind the X5.

Note that the Trailblazer/Bravada/Envoy and Jeep Liberty get only a "marginal." That's a disgrace in this day and age when manufacturers know how to design their vehicles to perform well under the test circumstances.
