Does anyone have any ideas on negotiating a discount on a pre-ordered 03 Touring w/Navi? My purchase order states MSRP, but of course I would like to get any discount possible.

Thanks in advance.

You're not going to be able to do that on a pre-order.

The other thing you can check into is a Purchasing Service like Costco, Sam's Club, a Credit Union, or a VPP similar to Nissan's (http://www.insidenissan.com) through your employer.

I have never seen any of those types of seller have vehicles like the MDX available. The dealer said that he would discount the X if the market had softened. From the popularity of this board, I don't think that has happened.

well, though a discount off msrp isn't likely for any pre-orders, you can always try to ask for free accessories... many owners here, me included, got free stuffs from the dealer, usually in the range of $500-1000, even though almost all of us pre-ordered our mdx...

good luck...

When I started shopping for my '02 back in June, the buying services (i.e., Costco, AAA, credit unions) were excluding the MDX from their discounted programs. That's probably true for any vehicle that's in such a great demand. Your best bet, as others have also posted, is to try and negotiate a discount on any accessories you might have lined up.
