Drove my 2008 MDX (120K miles) from OH to FL a few weeks ago for a family vacation. While down there I was startled when a few very small chunks of ice about the size of a grain of rice flew out of the drivers side vent. I only noticed it one time. We drove back last week and didn't really notice any problem with the a/c. 3 days ago I noticed the passenger side had cool air but the driver side did not. The rear passenger vents also had cold air. Last night we drove around and the passenger side air was not as cool as a few days ago.

I found a thread reporting the same problem where the consensus seems to be low freon. This is my first post so I cannot post the link. The title of the thread is "front a-c not working right!"

There was an Acura SN bulletin issued on this problem in July 2012.

Does anyone have an explanation on why ice would fly out of the air vent and how that would be connected to the problem I'm having?

Grave digging for a current issue,
Would Drivers side mix motor issue cause this even if freon levels were ok?
In other words can mix motor starve a/c of needed airflow to keep from freezing?
