This forum has been an invaluable source of pertinent information; while I am not a contributor, I have been quite an ardent follower, with many visits each week sometimes multiple in a day.

After 10 months of wait, we finally have possession of our RR MDX. In the course of installing the Form Fit hood deflector, inadvertent tightening of a screw w/ washer to the underside of the hood has caused the screw slot in the hood to strip -- i.e. the screw does not hold. Thus, of the four screw with washers that affix the deflector to the underside of the hood, one of the center ones is currently absent.

Any suggestions as to how this situation may be remedied?

Many thanks...

Try wrap the screw with a small piece of cloth and screw it in again. This trick has worked for me in many other applications. Depends on how much has the screw slot "stripped", you may need to wrap the screw with a thicker or thinner cloth.

My $0.02. Worth a try !:)
Good luck.

If the first suggestion does not work, take the screw to a hardware store and get one that is the SAME length, but a little larger width.

Also be careful not to over tighten.

Thanks

Glad I saw the post. I have mine sitting in the box from Tim and will probably try and install this weekend.
