For some unknown reason, our local Honda dealership is closed on Sundays. A lot of people still drive by but most people turn around in the parking lot when they see it closed.

My wife and I were parked there in the lot yesterday. We thought could we just take a look without the bother of sales people. Since our 3rd child will be arriving in June, we have been discussing the pros and cons of getting an MDX vs. Odyssey. In the middle of our talk, I interupted my wife and said, "Hey, look at that!"

A black MDX had just pulled into the parking lot. The driver was looking around slowly, so as he turned around we both got a chance to take a real good look at it from all angles. It was the first black one we had seen.

It was gorgeous. We looked at each other and knew what our choice would be. All debate ended :D.

Stargazer-

Something about that Black Acura MDX...still today....mesmerizes me. If you look at the color REALLY closely in certain lighting conditions...It has a midnight highlight to it. When you detail it with a really good detailing product...you can see a beautiful black with a subtle hint of blue...NICE! PICK black....its a beautiful choice. I have a black on black.

So there is blue in the black MDX paint

Thanks for confirming what I thought I saw. When clean and in bright sun I can see blue metallic chips in our black MDX. That's also how I knew my brand new black '94 Integra GS-R was damaged and repainted. The metallic in the hood was different color than the rest of the car. After waiting for the car for 3 months, I took it anyway with a decent discount for the repainted hood. I should have known it was a bad omen...6 accidents in the following year, none of which were my fault, including being rear ended by a sleeping driver resulting in $14,000 damage. They wouldn't total it so I traded the "giant magnet" for a '96 Audi A4, in black of course.

I was going to pick silver until I saw that black one in person. I know it will be extra work but I think it will be worth it.

Black is a little harder to upkeep in terms of cosmetics BUT...If you choose the right detailing products you shoule be find on your investment.

I use Meguiars professional detailing product...A little costly..BUT...Not only does it LOOK GREAT after the detail but it smells.... REALLY REALLY good. Am talking about the outside of the vehicle not the inside after you clean, polish it and wax it.

I heard ZAINO is also good.

Did someone say black MDX? :p Yes, the blue flecks are a nice touch IMO. In fact, someone saw my 'X pulling away from a restaraunt at night, and the next day they asked me about my new "blue" SUV. So given the right lighting, it looks midnight blue at night. Best color choice for stargazing :)
