Hey all

So, I usually jack the car up from the front and back using the tow hooks and place jack stands in the pinch weld. But, lately i noticed the pinch is sorta bending (use those cheap U shaped axle stands )

Anyways, I went out and purchased new set of jack stands with a FLAT top metal with a rubber piece on top https://www.amazon.com/ESCO-10498-Jack-Stand-Capacity/dp/B0019JVIPM. Now, will this still bend the pinch weld? Or is there some kinda adaptor you can use ? Searched some videos of people using hockey pads and such . I once used a piece of wood and it cracked.

Also, another one. Since I usually jack the car from front and back, I was wondering what you use to lift the car higher? My jack pad top is metal, I tried using wood blocks once and that also split in half.

I purchased a set of rubber pucks so that I could protect the vehicle when lifting it. They're similar to hockey pucks, but they have a slit in one side so that the pinch weld fits within. They do a very good job. I also use these (flipped over) when jacking up the vehicle via the front/rear jack points, partially to give me some anti-slip grip, and also to reduce risk of damaging the paint/anti-rust coating on the vehicle.

As for lifting the vehicle higher, I haven't had that problem. My jack goes up past 19" of lift, and with the puck I get an extra couple inches, as well.
