Hate to rub it in, but only a 6 week wait..........

A friend of mine ordered a '02 MDX in silver only 6 weeks ago and, low and behold, FIVE silver ones arrived last night- one with his name on it.

The anticipated wait was supposed to be 4 months, but, like when I ordered my Mesa Beige MDX last May, it came much earlier. My wait was only 8 weeks.

We Canadians are "spoiled" I guess. Short waits AND $6,000 US less MSRP.

Supply catching?

Those this mean that Acura is actually making the mdx 4x as fast as before? A few more months or less, this will be a buerys market. Looking at RGWomack's allocation list, it seems that their sales of the MDX is slowing down base on what's left in the last 2 list that he published. Please confirm Roger..
For my third deposit, I only had to wait 2 weeks and pay MSRP. This was around Thanksgiving (I don't suppose you Canadians celebrate that up there).

I guess it all depends on how picky you are. All the dealers I had contacted had an MDX available for sale the day I called/visited.
None were exactly what I wanted so I kept looking until I found one.
Made the deal Saturday night, picked mine up Thursday Night.... I leased it, so I can say is that it was on par with every other dealer I talked with...
Granite Green MDX's rule this thread!!
Let me know how the 9006 PIAA's work/look. I was thinking of putting htem in but wasn't sure if it would be worth it.

I put Manik bars on the MDX last night... so I can say I have mod's now...

Is it something easy to do yourself? I don't like to take aprt stuff myself from the car but if it is only tighting up bolts with existing holes, I may be able to do.

Ha, we do celebrate Thanksgiving, just on a different day (earlier, in fact) than you do all do.

As for the MDXs, they're not that difficult to get here. I have seen a couple of dealers with two or three of them on the lots, ready to go. The fact that we don't get a base model and nor navigation system probably helps things to speed along too. I don't doubt that allocation is still tight in the US.
dakster,

I'll do a before/after comparison once I get the PIAAs.
When I changed the bulbs on my 98 CL I used a light meter to measure the intensity and there was a significant difference(visually too). Keep in mind that over time some bulbs deteriorate such that part of the filament vaporizes and deposits itself on the glass, thus blocking the light.

I'll try to take some digital pictures if I can figure out how to use the manual settings and find my color targets. Of course, by the time I compress the image there may not be any noticeable differences.

Now, if I had a whole lot of time on my hands, I would have my friend come over so that I can measure his Razo's.

I haven't received the bulbs yet so I won't know when I'll get around to doing all this.
It's here (order on Oct 26) !!!!

My car has arrived and the dealer is installing some accessories in the next few days, so I should have it by Friday. What a Merry Christmas !!!!

(Cough, cough) With my professional pessimisium, let me hold that joy until I actually take possession of the car.

Now what I need is to go to Future Shop or something to get a digital camera on boxing day so that I can share the joy.

bef = I see you are planning to put the nose mask on, would you know if the nose mask can be properly installed (mounted) if I have the fender flare installed.

(Remember that Pointer's Sisters tune : I am so excited, and I just can't hide it, I am about to lose control and I think I like it....)
bef, i wouldn't be slamming our canadian brothers too hard. they still got the MDX for $6k(us) less than us.

think about it, i would be jumping for joy for atleast a year if i got a MDX-Touring for $31,500(US).

just my 2 cents.
Manik bars are easy to install. They are light and I did it by myself.

The only thing that got me was that I originally put the mounting brackets on the frame rails instead of directly underneath the body panels and had to unscrew the mounting brackets and relocate the first side I did. I noticed that a support bar had no where to bolt up to and when I spot checked the actual steps it would be located underneath the MDX...

You have to remove "screw hole covers", can't really explain what they are. Other than small black circles under the body. The easiest way I found to remove them was to take small screw driver and push in the center and pull out the cover. Hard to explain but easy to do. If the instructions would've mentioned this it would have taken me under an hour to do both sides, but instead it took 1 1/2 hours.

Only 10 screws into the body to mount the mounting brackets and 8 bolts to mount both bars to the mounting brackets. No drilling or fabricating. Hope this helps.

Only problem is that I can see the stainless bolts against a black mounting bracket and now I have to get used to either using the bars everytime I get in our out of the MDX or stepping around them. (recently I have been hitting my leg against them)

Sometimes being early is a blessing. It was 7 days from order to delivery for us back in November of 2000. And at MSRP with no forced accessories and a 10 percent discount from the Acura Website price for those that we did want.
