After locking my 'X, the hatch does not get locked. I tested locking by both the scenarios - remote as well as manual - the hatch door does not lock. It is 2002, anyone with similar issue?

Hmm

Are you sure it's closed all the way? There is a lot of old threads about the hatch not completely shutting unless you give it a good slam especially when they are new. Try this. Leave a back door open (takes away the compression) and open and shut the hatch with your normal force, shut the rear door and try it. If your sure its closed completely then there is a problem.

original problem fixed - new problem!!!

I took the 'X to the dealer - the hatch was not getting locked. Waited for about an hour while the tech worked on it. It is fixed now (said something was unplugged???? may be a fuse or wire something - I did not care).

This fix added 1 more problem:
None of my interior lights are working - tried all combinations - explicitly turning them on, opening the door, opening with remote). CD working. Guess when they fixed the hatch problem they introduced this one. !!! I am NOT HAPPY with the service team The dealer is closed on Sunday.


This may NOT be a problem, but I have not confirmed it.
The clock gets reset each time I turn off the engine (this may be on me - I may not have set the clock correctly - I will read the manual)

Check the mat

I had the same problem. After some research I realized that my cargo mat was getting stuck on the lock area. Make sure the area is clean of any debris as well
