Just plunked down 1K to reserve a silver touring and navigation equipped MDX, and the first thing I noted was that the nav system is DVD based, soooooo..

How do I mod it to accept DVD movies? Add a player? Tell me tell me tell me.

I'm a DIY guy and not afraid to get in there and rip stuff up. (as long as I keep it stock looking in the end...)

Welcome to the board. The DVD "player" for the Navi won't be able to play DVD movies. You need a separate DVD player for it.

There are two ways to mod the Navi, one is to use the Pioneer AVC-RGB1 to do it, but it's been discontinued.

The second way is to use the Pioneer GEX-P700TV. Here is a thread from ClubLexus.com that has a guy doing the conversion. A similar setup would apply for the MDX.
