I really liked my 'X, but I decided that the 2nd gen 'V is a better fit for me. I had to wait several weeks, but my new satin silver EX 'V finally arrived last week and I got to drive it home on Thursday with only 3 miles on the odometer :) On Saturday I added Michelin LTX M/S tires in size 225 70-15 (replacing the stock Bridgestone Duelers in size 205 70-15) and F1 28% tint to the front windows and rear hatch glass to compliment the factory privacy glass. I've also got front mud flaps, roof rack, and center cap for the spare tire on order from Tim (thank goodness he sells Honda stuff too:) ). Today I took it off-roading and all I can say is WOW! This thing performs great. With the Michelins I gained over a half inch of ground clearance (from 8.1 stock to about 8.65) and I presume a degree or two in approach and departure angle as well. It was great not having to worry so much about getting scratched on thie sikinny trails as I did with my dearly departed MDX. Here are some pics of my new MDX Jr.

This is the crater trail at the Withlacoochee State Forest in Florida. There was a dead horse on the side of the trail about 25 feet to the left and rear of my 'V in this pic. There were about 25 HUGE vultures flying around when we drove up. Prety gross.

You can't tell from this pic, but the Michelins are actually OSWL :p I had added these same tires to my old 'V and really enjoyed them so I knew I wanted to get them right away. Tire Kingdom gave me a decent allowance on the stock Bridgestones which only had about 100 miles on them. In addition to improved traction, they provide a very quiet and plush ride on the street I thought about getting the Cross-Terrains but I decided to stick with what I had before. I also prefer the OSWL which I don't think the Cross-Terrrains have.

Real Time 4WD is not as advanced as VTM-4 obviously, but it is still very effective.

I love the satin silver color for the 2nd gen 'V. I wonder how it compares to the starlight silver on the 'X

The thing I'll miss most about my 'X is this great forum. Well, maybe I'll miss those steering wheel mounted audio controls more :p I'll stop by occassionally to see what's up, but in the meantime I'm headed back to the CR-VIX at http://www.hondasuv.com . Happy trails.

You suck!

Well, I knew this was comin'...still sad to see it actually happen :(. Understand the rationale -- esp since I'm the one who wants to do "scratch free" offroading out here on the left coast :) Gettin' the waverunners, too?

It's been great having you around here...especially for us suburban jungle runners living vicariously through your 4-wheel adventures.

Don't worry - we'll be sure and page you when Lester89 shows up! Here's an ML assembly smiley for your files:

Best wishes!

Wow....I've only been on this forum for a non-measurable period, but I've already known you to be a wealth of information and great person. To think that when my MDX comes in, we'll have one less enthusiast here, well, it's sad. Thanks for the great posts and great company. do stop in more than occassionally and let us know how you are. I'll have to go over to hondasuv.com for my uncle's CRV and learn some more there.

Happy Trails!
Gator, say it's not so. Sorry things didn't work out better with the MDX but obviously we know you still think it's a great vehicle. Well, best of wishes and don't be a stranger.
GG, why, oh why, did you settle for another lousy Honda pseudo-SUV when you could have had THE REAL THING!!! 2002 ML 320 rocks!!! With over 1000 improvements it still sucks! :D:D:D

Sorry, could not help it! Sorry to see you go. You took your MDX where no man has gone before in his :) (at least this man has not) and truly inspired me and added a bit of respect to MDX (like I did not have enough already!)

I hope you'll stick around.

Have fun!
A true offroader will always be missed. Good luck, GG. See ya around
Bye Gator

Hope you stop by every once in a while. It's been entertaining!

Maybe we'll meet up again when you and I buy our next-generation ML320's. :D
DAMNIT GATORGREG!

Why cant you just get a second job or something to keep the MDX too?

HEHEHE...I have enjoyed ALL your posts...PLease come visit us from time to time.

BTW...Beautiful CRV
Hasta la CR-Vista, baby!

So long to a guy that really knows how to have fun with his toys! (but really bordered on MDX-abuse, glad to see you're taking it out on CRV's now :))

Later, Gator! Stop by & say hi now and then!!

Ghost
GG,

Like the rest of the members, I did enjoy all your posts and the breadth of information you provided. It's unfortunate to see that you had to part with your MDX. I did like the new generation CRV, but I still like my MDX.

Good Luck!
Sorry to see you go and glad to see that you found a trail that a Miata couldn't go down.. hehe...

Do you know of any good trails down in the South Fla. area... Most of the ones I used are now housing developments.
