Just a reminder to everyone (and a word of caution to those who have not read previous threads about this subject):

Be sure not to continue to pump gas (to round off cents, etc) after the pump cuts off!! We had the dreaded overflow after my husband capped the tank off with a whopping 4 cents!!! OK, I'll admit I was a LITTLE upset because I had told him never to do this based on the info I had read on this great site ;)! But, in his defense, 4 CENTS should not have caused a problem!!! I was really upset because I was waiting until our Zaino came to wash the X for the first time!

By the way - location of fill-up was Virginia and was on completely level ground (had seen previous threads questioning NC pumps).

From now on - when the pump cuts off on us - that's it!

Good luck everyone!

I also found out the hard way. Now I know to stop when the gas pump does.

I too, am glad that I found the thread regarding not 'topping off the tank'. Even my salesman told me during the delivery process of my 'X.

Here in NJ, it can be a challenge because we are not permitted to pump our own gas, only the station attendents can do it. Some of them can give you strange looks when you ask them not to top the tank off. They really hate dealing with pennies. The coin holder in my 'X gets a lot of use! For some reason, I just can't bring myself to put gas on a credit card.

I had read about topping off and failed to heed the warning. I am a quick learner though and will not attempt to top off a second time ....
