Bought our MDX from Gary Force Acura - Nashville. Very pleased, especially with Marty P., the internet salesman. We bought ours over the phone, flew to Nashville and drove it back to Okla. Marty met us at the airport, and we signed all the papers and took delivery there. Also, very pleased with Bob Howard Acura in OKC - we cancelled our order with them - they were very friendly about returning the deposit.

MB/saddle, touring, running boards, all weather mats, cargo tray, wood shift knob.

Not so happy with Bob Howard in OK

I too would like to thank the people who posted their EGR valve information on this site. I had the SAME EXACT problems with the VTM-4/Check Engine lights coming on, the P1491 code along with some of the signs discussed on these threads. ('01 MDX, 71K).

I called Bob Howard Acura in Edmond Oklahoma and was told that it would cost me $80 to have the car "hooked up" to the computer (like fair compensation for pushing in a plug and letting a computer tell you what's wrong is $80...give me a break!). They then told me that they've never heard of EGR valve problems with the MDX. I told them about this forum and how seemingly hundreds, if not more, are having this same problem. When he said he doesn't buy into chat room information on the internet I let him have my Ace in the hole where MSN's model research details how the EGR valve and the Evaporative Emissions Bypass Solenoid are problematic on the MDX.

I called my local mechanic (Ranchwood Autoworks in Yukon) and they told me they would check the car with the computer, if all it needed was the EGR valve and gasket there would be no charge for the diagnostics, but if something more showed then they would charge me....fair enough.

Customer service at Bob Howard Acura in Edmond Oklahoma is non-existent. Their main objective is to rip you off!

Marty is a nice guy, but my experience with the rest of Gary Force was not that great.
Jerry Damson Acura in Huntsville AL offered the same vehicle I purchased for $1500 less. When I gave Gary Force the opportunity to match or at least come close they said when I went through the entire buying process with the trade in they would come out better.

So I got Jerry Damson to give me a trade in value and went to CarMax to see what they would buy the 1998 Volvo V70 with 123K miles.

Damson offered 8K over the phone
CarMax offered 6k
I had to go through an entire purchase process for Gary Force to finally offer 4K and still no discount on the MDX.

I immediately called Damson, drove down and was back on my way home within an hour of arriving, no strings attached, all promises kept and a good finance rate (4% in 2003).

Marty is nice, but Gary Force was going to be $5500 more for my purchase.
