No.

Is that already available?

No. Why would it be? There was no plan for it. The right side of the screen is for secondary function.

It would be nice if you had the option for CarPlay to take the entire screen if you don't need the secondary function.

Yeah, it would be. But it won't happen. There are no plans for that AFAIK.
