Has anyone replaced a fuel pressure regulator on 2nd generation MDX? Where is the location of it? How hard is it to test and replace?

I did a little research on this, as I wasn't able to find the FPR on our X's. It seems that the Fuel Pressure Regular (FPR) is a part of the fuel pump assembly, as per the Acura service manual. See the attached photos.

Here are the instructions on how to remove the Fuel Pump, it's pretty straight forward and easy to access, you just have to remove the rear seat.

  1. Relieve the fuel pressure. (This can be done with the HDS tool, which is the easiest way, I don't remember how to do this without the tool, but I believe someone outlined the steps here on the forum.)
  2. Remove the second row seat.
  3. Remove the access panel (A) from the floor. (4 Phillips screws)
  4. Disconnect the fuel tank unit 4P connector (B).
  5. Disconnect the quick-connect fitting (C) from the fuel tank unit.
  6. Using the fuel sender wrench, loosen the locknut (A).
  7. Remove the locknut (A), locknut plate (B), and fuel tank unit (C).
