If anyone is replacing their factory sub and adding an amp I have a great sub for you.

It is a 10" JL IB4. It will fit in the factory location but will need a 1" wood trim ring made first. Easy to do or you can have a local shop make it for you.

It is an 8 ohm load and handles 100 watts.

It was installed in my MDX in December 2001 and replaced on March 15th by a custom built fiberglass box (in the factory location), a Boston Pro 10 and a JL 500 watt sub amp.

It is in perfect condition and it is a great solution for someone who wants better sound but does not want to spend a ton of money. You will need an amp, though, as the factory system will not be able to drive this speaker very well. This sub is very musical and I thik it sounds the best of all th free air subs I tested.

Here is a link to the specs:

The sub cost me $150.

I listed it on eBay if you want on bid on it go here:

Here are two photos of my sub:

(The box sure is ugly)

Do you mind sharing more information regarding your fiberglass
box? How does it sound? Would you be interested in saling one?

Thanks

I have a couple questions about your JL Audio install. Did the stock speaker cover fit correctly with the sub and spacer in place? What displeased you about this setup? I was seriously thinking about going this route but didn't think the sub would fit depth wise. What were you driving the sub with? Do you have any recommendations for those of us that will use this sub? Thanks for any and all information.
