My 2002 MDX showed both a P131 and P132 error. I've replaced both oxygen sensors but the codes persist and a new symptom has come up. Once in a while the car hesitates when attempting to accelerate. Also replaced the air cleaner and fuel pressure regulator. Also added a can of injector cleaner.

Any thoughts on what to try next?

What brand are the oxygen sensors? If aftermarket, were they plug and play or did you have to solder/crimp the wires?

Both are circuit fault codes meaning the fault could be sensor, wiring, connector, or ECM. Diagnostics w/ a test light or multimeter are necessary to locate fault.

A good shop manual w/ wiring diagram is essential.

The combination of both similar fault codes suggest a fault common to both circuits.
good luck

In addition to what's been said, those codes are for the same sensor. What two sensors were replaced?

Re hesitation, think you should get the codes resolved first. Then, if it still hesitates, consider checking the following (observing all safety precautions). (There's a chance first one below could contribute to your code.)

- vacuum leaks - loose or cracked hoses
- spark plugs - changed within last 105K miles? Check for tightness - esp firewall side.
- throttle body - clean the bore and throttle plate, edges of the plate. Use TB cleaner, wipe, don't spray. Many youtubes on how-to.
- fuel pressure - although you changed the pressure regulator, thinking it could be the fuel pump. Haynes states for an 01 MDX, fuel pressure is supposed to be 48-56 psi. Check static (key to position II for 30 mins) and when running. You can rent a fuel pressure tester at Autozone or OReilly. Haynes or a factory manual will show you how to test.

Good luck!
