I have heard that many of the replacement airbags are still using ammonium-nitrate-based propellant. These airbags will potential have the same issues and need to be replaced again.:crying2:

I contacted Acura Client Relationship and asked them to give a letter that states that the replacement airbags do not have ammonium-nitrate-based propellant, but they refused. Does anyone else know anything more about this issue?

I can't confirm but I believe Honda also uses Autoliv as a airbag supplier who does not use ammonium-nitrate based propellant (only Takata's airbag uses ammonium-nitrate).
I think they used Autoliv airbag for the recall work. At least I'm hoping that was the case when they replaced my 04 MDX airbag back in December 2014.

Now my wife's Lexus IS250 is getting recalled and in the wait mode.
Kind of glad my MDX was taken care of last year since I hear there will be a long wait to get the airbag part.
