I usually drive with my stereo on, so I didn't really notice this until recently. When I drive over a speed bump, the whole front end makes this non-metallic thuds that sounds somewhat like tires bouncing against the ground, but louder. It occurs mostly when coming down from the speed bump rather than when going over it. I hear it also when I drive over potholes and rough pavements. I always thought that it was just normal but I'm beginning to wonder if this is the "thud." Is this the "thud," and has anyone taken their MDX to Acura of Portland for the thud fix? Thanks.

MaD - there is a TSB detailing which cars are affected and listing 3 different thud types. Do a little search and read it, then check your VIN. Approximate cut-off date is late June.

If in doubt, bring the car in. Since the TSB came out, I do not think they'd look at you like you are from another planet.

You may also want to contact Roger Womack who is a salesman at AoP ( I believe) - he is one of the frequent posters on this site.

Good luck

MaD-X,

You should take a look at all the Thud posts (see knowlege base), and also take a look at this post, which describes a problem that is different than the Thud.

I originally thought my problem was the THUD, but the dealer has been unable to fix my MDX with the THUD fixes described in the TSB. I am dealing with a different problem, that is more like a constant rattle, or thumping coming from the front end (i.e. constant when going over bumps).
