Can anyone provide comment on the approximate wait time between the "build date" and actual delivery?

After ordering the car in March of this year, my dealer (in Massachusetts) gave me a build date for a premium '02 SS w/ Nav of December 11 to 15 - and a delivery date between 1 to 2 weeks after that. If I don't receive the car before Christmas, I will probably have to rent one for the holidays.

Any insight from this knowledgeable group appreciated.

My build date was 11/11-11/15 - exactly one month before yours.. I am still waiting for mine - however I believe due to the fact that mine was shipped out on the 19th.. However, dealer said it's coming this week so I'm taking end of week delivery..

I would be guessing to expect the same - due to Chrismas (in my case Thanksgiving).. but I would definetely bet on the fact that if the dealer gets the car on the 30th or 31st - he'll ask you to take delivery immediately - he wants to up his end of year numbers.. so - you can bargain on that (free accessories or $500 off or so)

My MDX was built 6/15/01 and picked up 6/26/01. I live in Virginia.
Around 10 days from build date seems to be nominal, depending upon where you live.

What was your 'shipped' date and from the day it got to the dealer - in how many days was it "prepped"?

Sorry, never got a "shipped date". Dealer got car in 10 days after build date. Prepped on that day and picked up next day late in afternoon. Did a very good job on preparation. Car was spotless and haven't had a moments trouble ("thud", "weeping mirrors", "excessive wind noise", etc.) since delivery. I now have about 5,500 miles in 6 months. Bringing car to HONDA dealer for VTM-4 fluid replacement (6 months or 7,500 miles) and oil change next Monday. I will be using HONDA dealer for service outside warranty.

Well, I am getting some accessories from the dealer (matching Tim's price).. mentioned in my signature line.. so maybe prepping will take a whole day..
