Dealer Feedback in PA/DE Area

1841 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  JPOW
Hi to all, I am not currently an MDX owner but have narrowed my choice to an MDX and I am now evaluating dealers. I live on the PA/DE border so I have access to dealers in both states. I was wondering if anyone has done business with any of these dealers and can provide some feedback regarding their experience, most importantly if they forced options which were not desired, pricing, professionalism, etc.

There are three, possibly four, dealers that I have quick access to :

Castle Acura in Wilmington

West Chester Acura in PA

Metro Acura in Philly (PA)

Admore Acura in (PA) furthest to get to.

If you are prefer not to publicly post a response you can email me directly at [email protected]

Thanks for any information

Yep -- glad to

I live in North Wilmington, DE. I have experience with the follwoing dealers:

Price Honda -- Dover, DE
Castle Acura, New Castle, De
West Chester Acura.

Here's the deal:
All three deal at MSRP, no forced options.
Price Honda is a pretty low volume dealership, and as such, you will wait a long time to get one -- I had a deposit there from April until October, with no build date. If you use them, ask for Sheila -- English woman, very nice to deal with.

West Chester Acura is saying May June timeframe for 2002s now.

I finally pulled my deposit from Price and went with Castle Acura. Call David Keith, and tell him I sent you -- David Goodrich. 3Their # is 302-323-1100. Price sells MDXs in two ways:
1. Ones that they don't take deposits on -- these they typically load up with a ton of options and sell to the first person that wants them.
2. David will call you -- you come down, put down a $1000 deposit, and tell him what you want (touring/nav/etc). You will get a build date about 3 weeks later, and a car about 4-5 weeks after that at MSRP. Some of their options were a little higher than the Acura.com site, some were lower. You can get them to match the Acura.com site with a little pushing. Also, all of the basic options (cargo cover, all weather mats, etc), just order from Tim at www.hondacuraworld.com.

Please PM me with any other questions, and be sure to mention my name -- I think that they have some dealer referral bonus. David Keith has been great about keeping me informed -- as soon as Acura announced the 2002 prices, there was a message on my machine with all of the info.

Gerry - I pretty much agree with davegood on the dealers. I had a deposit on my MDX with West Chester Acura and then cancelled it due to the long wait. I ended up purchasing it at Davis Acura in Langhorne. They may be a little far but they are definitly worth the trip. They are at MSRP and no forced options but their service department is excellent. They also give you every other oil change for free. Additionally, they only charged $129.00 for the first 7,500 servicing which is great compared to other postings that I have read. Look at it this way, Langhorne is only about 45 minutes away and you will enjoy your trip home from picking up your new MDX. Long story short, contact all of the dealers in our area and you will most likely be driving a new 2002 MDX within the month. If my memory serves me right, I sent e-mails requestiong quotes and I was contacted by two dealers, including Castle Acura within two weeks with a choice of a couple of mDX's. You may have to settle a little with color and options (i.e. - touring & navigation) but you will get an MDX.

Good luck !!!
