Good Luck
rflagg,
We get our allocation/on-order report list usually toward the end of the first week of the month, about the 7th. It will have all the MDX's being built for our store with some build dates, the following week we will get an update with more build dates . I still have last months posted, when I go back to work Wednesday I'll get the new one and post it to give you an example. The link below is last months but it will give you an idea of the spread on build dates.
How often do you receive VIN numbers, then. If you know that a car is going to be built in a date range, when do you receive the VIN and know that it has been built and in transit?
Dave,
Your dealer should have the vin # a couple of days after 12-19 sometimes we get them the next day. This report must be pulled by the dealer, it don't just show up. So just get with someone who knows how to do it. Once they receive the vin your MDX should be in transit. Once in a while there is a little asterisk beside it which means assigned but I have never figured out exactly what the hell it means as they seem to show up about the same time. Some MDX's are coming in a little early so maybe they are trying to get them out before Christmas, that's when they go on a two week break.....just kidding.
Roger -- Thanks for getting right back to me -- you're the best.
I am not optimistic that I will be driving the MDX to my brother's in Viriginia for Christmas, but I think I might come in before New Years. I'm sure that the holidays will slow transit down a couple of days as well.
The last few months have gone by faster than the last 3 weeks of the MDX waiting game, I'm sure.....
Outside off calling every local dealship and asking about their allocation, is there anyway of finding out if a 188 in Red is going to be sent to a dealership in Southern California?
rflagg,
I don't know, I'm sure Acura has that knowledge but I sure don't know how to access it. I'll see what I can find out tomorrow. We can pull reports to find out what specific dealers have in inventory and what is in transit for dealer trades. But it don't let us know what is sold. We still have to call to see if it is still available and no one I know of is trading MDX's yet so we don't bother. Your best bet is to find a few dealers who have refundable deposits and let them know whoever gets it first will get your business. But I have a feeling it's just going to take calling around.
