Or forget about it and let it leaks if the oil is not gushing out or dripping on the ground overnight? I noticed the leak has accumulated underneath the engine as weeks and months went by but I didn’t noticed any oil losses from this.

Maybe switching to 5w30 high mileage oil and hope that it stop? Mine does not leak yet, but I switched to HM oil hoping to prevent it.

Do you live in Boston or Chicago area? If you live in the Boston area, I know a Honda/Acura specialist repair shop that I can recommend.

Mines been leaking for over a year now as the dealership states (oil pump seal) , although no drips on the ground or near the engine area. I don’t notice a oil loss so I’m going to just let it do it’s thing lol. They quoted like 1300 Canadian to fix it. Most of it is just labour.

HM is short for High Mileage oil.

LBJ Honda in Melrose, MA. Their website is https://www.lbjhonda.com They use only OEM parts. They are great. They replaced my '06 Odyssey Touring engine mounts a couple weeks ago.

Check Facebook and see if there are any Acura or Honda car clubs.
join and ask if there recommend any mechanics.
I'll bet that a couple of ASE Acura and Honda mechanics work side jobs on the weekend. They usually don't do fluid changes, but cash in on the big jobs.

You could try those stop-leak additives you pour into your engine. With age, the seals can harden and become less effective. The stop-leak additives are around $10 and work by re-conditioning the seals to become soft and pliable again. It's worth a try before going the much more expensive route of replacing the seals.

I have used a product by a company called ATP Automotive, with success.

It's AT-205 Re-Seal

I used it in my power steering reservoir, but the box indicates that it can be used for engines too.

I have it changed when I first bought the X. At that visit, I did all 100k service as well. The rear main seal alone costs almost $1400-1500 i need to check the Receipt again. Mine also change another seal, I forgot the name, as well because it is in the same area. So far no more dripping oil. The did it at he dealer because it is convenient. I got the loaner and they really make sure everything is ok. If u plan to keep the car for long like I do, then do it.

Thinking about rear main seal, I thought about the dealer that I bought this car from, they really cleaned the bottom well that I did not notice the leak. Stupid me.

Doesn't that guy work as a youtuber, for Toyota?
No, Toyota just happens to be the #1 car manufacturer in the world, so he advocates for it mostly. But he is not opposed to the truth. For example, he admits that the Civic is very good and better than Toyota's competition.

His mom, his son, his wife and he himself all drive Toyota. So that is consistent with what he says in public. Adding to his credibility.

I wouldn't know what his family drives, but didn't Toyota buy him a fancy scan tool and don't they use a lot of plastic in their cars? Their door handles fall apart often enough to drive a person crazy.

Dude has been a mechanic for 50 years, he is also a very frugal person, he is advertiser friendly, his A- grade Youtube channel gets him over 40 million views monthly translating roughly to about a two million dollars in annual revenue in just ads. He is basically a multi-millioner by this point. Do you really think that he would be advocating for Toyota over a fancy scan tool?

Regarding handles - he actually had a video on it, admitting the issue.

Now I'm not saying I like him (he is controversial at times and there's a lot of clickbait going on in his titles), but you have to be realistic.

He probably got some perks from Toyota, just like Ford lent him free Shelby Mustang to play with, Shell flied him out to conference etc. As long as the factual knowledge he gave out is true, that is good enough for me. He is obviously biased towards low budget and low maintenance cars, what can you do about it? There are a lot more poor dudes than rich ones, and each click/view translates to the same amount of dollars.

Okay, to summarize:
1. I knew about at205
2. I knew about a fancy scan tool
3. I knew about the plastic
4. I knew about Toyota's Achilles heel (door handles)

Do I need to tell you that your car is junk or an endless money pit, if it's not a 94 Celica?

Haha, curious which car of yours qualifies as an endless money pit according to Scotty?
