Acura dealer had my X for 2 days to fix weeping mirrors and climate control unit:(. CCU would read 10-15 degrees lower than outside temp. Got it back yesterday and I also noticed that my average mile per gallon has gone up from high teens / low twenties to high twenties / low thirties. Now I've had the car back for just a day and not long enough to average out but I think there was a problem with mpg as well?

maybe there is now

Actually, maybe your mpg was working before, and now it is 10mpg too high.

Getting high 20s, low thirties consistently isn't realistic, unless you only drive downhill.....

You might have fixed the outside temp and messed up the mpg calc.

gg01mdx,

If they "fixed" your mpg, you must give me the dealer's name, I simply gotta go there!!

We get 13 [maybe 14] in the city. PURE highway at 70 mph on cruise we can get 22 UNTIL we get off the freeway [downhill from there].

Now that I have said the above, those are the Computer Numbers!! When I calculate mpg based on miles driven and gas added, I ALWAYS come up with a lower number. In case anyone asks, it is NOT MY MATH. I suspect that the MDX trip computer was a Liberal Arts Major [definately not a math major].

srpbep,

It's actually tapered off from back then. I get mid teens in city and low twenties on highway. My main concern for bringing in the X was due to the climate control temp being 10-15 degrees lower than actual.

TYP,

Your mileage is great, how do you do it? Is your foot a feather?

Bye the way, are these real numbers [ miles traveled / gallons of gas added] or are these the trip computer numbers? If it's trip computer calcs, you might want to check it yourself. Our trip computer is always optimistic.

HI..

EM.. JUST SOME USUAL TRICK..

TRY NOT TO GO FROM 0 TO 60 IN 7 SEC EVEN THOUGH YOU CAN..

I DRIVE AROUND 85 ON FWY, THAT SEEMS TO SAVE LOTS OF GAS..

IN CITY, I JUST DRIVE SLOW AND TRY NOT TO STEP TO HARD..

WHEN I SEE THE RED LIGHT, I JUST LET MY X SLIDE TO IT..

AND I TRY VERY HARD NOT TO RACE WITH ANY CARS.

SO.. EVEN IN TRAFFIC, I DROVE SLOW AND LET THE CAR SLIDE..

HOPE THAT HELPS..

^__^
