You know...I notice there is not a thread on such a minor thing...but this minor thing makes SUCH a big difference to the way the wheels look on the MDX.

The MDX comes with the black plastic valve cap on the valve stems that is for the touring or base wheels. One day when I was washing my vehicle..I notice that the black plastic cap was cheap and cheesy looking..so I went to a local auto parts store...Kragen auto parts and picked up some premium chrome/stainless steel caps for my wheels...MAN...it really made a difference and it only costs me like $1.50 for a set of four quality chrome caps.

Anyway...has anyone done this to the wheels of their MDX? Just curious

Good idea

Fireblade -- thanks for the tip -- nothing like a good, cheap, easy upgrade.

Fireblade6, could you upload a pic that shows this?

Thanks,

If these are like the one's I bought they have 'nut' shape at the top, but you would never need a socket to take them on or off.
Besides looking better, they have a little rubber gasket deep inside and you can feel it compress as you tighten it the last turn by hand. Additional air tightness I guess!

Yes I did this on my old Concorde

The chrome caps looked great.... for about two weeks.

After about two weeks some scumbucket put them on his car.

This is a great upgrade for a few bucks. They really make the wheels look good. I also bought the valve sleeves that go with the caps at the same place ($4.00). The sleeves completely cover up the black rubber part of the valves.

That's a great idea guys. I'm going to pick up some chrome caps this weekend.

I found some chrome valve caps with sleeves for the stems at Wal-Mart for about three bucks. They added a nice touch to the stock wheels. Thanks for the suggestion Fireblade6.
