Just bought an 04 MDX with 172K on it “ as is” and it came with lots of problems. This one I can’t figure out. The transmission had almost 2 quarts more in it and I drained it to spec. Did a drain and fill and it seemed to work but the check engine light came back. It goes out after a few days and then comes back on. It’s been doing this for over a month. What to do next?

I took it to a mechanic and they used the recommended brand for this vehicle. I believe it was Honda.
