Not sure if any of you are experiencing this but my 16 MDX is going under the knife for body creaks that occur under light acceleration and any sort of braking. Noise sounds like it occurs under the center console/cubby area in the transmission tunnel area. Apparently I am not the only one, as another MDX is also at my dealer for the same issue but MUCH louder than mine. Will try to find out more as they fix the issue but since it's not isolated to just my MDX, it may eventually appear on others. Requires taking apart the interior and welding the body. My MDX has just under 15k miles.

My 2016 had the exact same issue and it was really unbearable at times. I finally had the time to stop in the dealer and they said the same thing then Honda told them to re torque the bolts for the panel under the drivers foot well area and it resolved the issue. Funny I ended up trading it in waiting for a oil change during the visit for a 2017 Advance with RSE.

What kind a noise? is it something like mine? (link below)

Dealer fixed the issue in winter, now it's summer and weather is warm and the same noise happen again.
It's so annoy.I think this is due to the weather.

No, mine was more like a metal creaking/flexing noise. South Coast Acura was able to fix it within a day! Apparently the techs have an internal forum and this is already a known issue. If anyone has this problem in socal, they can fix it easily.

Do you know specifically what the fix is? My '14 does this almost every time when backing out of the garage. We always hit the brakes a little when the mirrors get close to the opening, just to make sure (my wife is good at clipping the door frame edge with the mirror) and we hear the creak. That is one of the most noticeable times we can hear it.

it sounds like the seat is creaking but its actually one of the unibody panels. Like he said its metal on metal sound really annoying sound. The dealer originally said it had to go out to the body shop to check the seams of the panels then called back as said re torquing the body panel underneath the driver fixed the issue. I only had the car literally 15 mins because I traded it in while i was waiting but I did confirm it was fixed. It would happen all the time especially during stop and go traffic so I suspect any vertical movement was causing the issue when it was present. I also wonder if it is weather related like the other poster said because it did seem like it went away during summer but came right back again this winter.

You mind share a copy written from the Technician? I would like to show to my dealer so they know what's caused. Because this noise is drive me crazy, i thought they fixed it in winter but now weather is warmer and noise came back.

Just as a FYI, my tech merely wrote "Found that the vehicle is getting creaking from lower dash" but they verbally told me it was a chassis rub that required either welding or insulation. I did not confirm which one that they did. I do know that in one of my prior vehicles, a chassis rub only required a 3M lube spray initially, but eventually needed to be re-welded. I'm keeping watch to see if it comes back later, but so far so good. If you need to call someone for reference, it's South Coast Acura, 714-979-2500, ask for John Wong (if he's not there, Ferdie Ang can also help), reference R/O Number 6056688/1.

My 2014 has the same issue. Last summer, they found a TSB and tightened the panels. Sound went away. It has come back again. At A16 servicing they said they tightened the panels again, but the sound has gotten worse so I will have to take it back again.
This is another example of poor assembly and very annoying

Neoshi, thanks for the info! I'm in Norcal but I'm traveling to socal and made an appointment with South Coast Acura (Jon) to hopefully get this resolved. What's the r/o number? Was that your order number or reference to a bulletin with the information on how to fix it?

they were not able to fix it properly on my MDX the second time around. The creaking sound has gotten worse.

I brought it back and it has been at the dealership all week. They are talking to Acura engineers and trying to realign the panels with the car. I honestly do not understand what they are trying to do and I hope they put it all back together correctly.

Will circle back when they complete the repair on third time around with this issue.

after a week at the dealer, got car back. Creaking sound gone. Then the temperature went up a lot yesterday and it is back, so now I think it is temperature related/expansion of some part under the dashboard under the steering wheel. Have others with this issue noticed it gets worse when temperature goes up or if they live in a year round warm climate?

I guess I just have to accept the noise as this was the third time in the last year I took back to the dealer with this problem.

I got a clicking or creaking noise when accelerate on freeway (high speed). When tapping on the gas pedal then take off the foot the noise pop. I think it's depend on weather conditions. Mine usually louder in a cold day and quiet in warm condition.

This car drive my nut. So many problems and noises. I still have that same noise when braking and accelerate.

I am taking my car to dealer next week, anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

Had the same problem, they kept my 2016 for a few days and tried several things to fix, after talking to someone at Honda they advised moving the air conditioning lines over or around, had something to do with the A/C lines on the firewall. TOTALLY fixed it
Acura of Langley BC canada knows how to do it

I've come to realize that the whole front dash area and everything that runs through there is really such a mess. There's lines that are not braced, other lines that are braced up against another surface (like you mention, it rubs, causes noise), and then whoever is assembling the dash area is just doing a poor job. I've seen random cuts in panels, skewed covers, and loose trim. OY ALABAMA!

I know I’m a few years late but I am thrilled to find this thread. My 2014 MDX makes a metal creak/crack inside the cabin, seemingly from under the center console, on acceleration or braking. I really didn’t think I’d be able to explain it to someone in order to get it fixed. Thx to OP and others for contributions.
