Black interior better w/kids says this mom!

I'm a Mom, and I picked the silver MDX with the dark interior. My son is 3 and a half, and he trashes the inside of the car. I have been really happy with the darker interior..it cleans up really nice with some amorall and I'm slowly getting my son trained that we have to be careful on our new car. I had an acura vigor with the camel interior, which is really pretty, but I think with kids, it's easier to hide dirt with the darker colors.
Amorall workds wonders! I was really bad with my previous car, but I find I really like the way my MDX looks so we're pretty good at keeping it clean so far!

Hey Lumi! Welcome to the board...thanks for the enthusiasm in the other posts you've made -- fun to see!

Here's a quick welcome tip: do your leather a favor and quit using that greasy Armorall. Yechh! Try some Lexol cleaner and conditioner instead. One bottle's orange and the other's blue. Probably @ your local hardware store. WAY better and not greasy/slippery. Cleans and conditions the leather WAY better. If you're looking for something on the dash, use Vinylex (made by Lexol). Not as shiny or greasy, either.

You can find other alternatives in the Detailing forum, BTW. These are the ones I use but folks have been happy w/others, too, of course.

Hey Lumi-

armour all are for rubber...like your tires...Dont put it on Leather...OUCH!!! You dont wanna have me tell you what Armour All does on leather..

Use leather cleaners and conditioner for the leather only.
Agree with above posts. Armorall is probably the worst stuff you could use for leather! It leaves a greasy film which dries and can crack your leather.
Hi Lumi - Welcome to the board and glad that you selected an MDX. It is a great family car !!! I agree with your selection of the black leather interior since it tends to be a little more forgiving with regards to showing dirt - especially when jr throws his sippy cup across the car and it spills all over those beautiful leather seats. Also, as the others have stated, please stay away from Armorall on the seats. It is to greasy and you will start to slide across them as if they were like ice. There are much better products out there geared specifically for leather that work much better.

Good luck with your MDX and safe driving.
