Here's a quick preface to my latest 2nd Gen. Acura MDX dilemma- my vices in life are:
1.) Shopping (esp. purses & shoes!)
2.) Diet Coke (over consumption!!)
3.) TOUCHLESS CAR WASHES (ABUSE- I've never crossed paths with a touchless car wash that I had never eventually taken any of my cars through, and I'd say on average that I've had my 2009 Acura MDX taken to a touchless car wash at LEAST once every week- even during snow packed winters) for the past 8 years consistently!!)....
that being said, I walk out to my hospital's work parking lot today and while cleaning off some rain that had accumulated on my MDX's roof just hours earlier, noticed that the small (color matched) roof mounted 'cover' to my MDX's (roof mounted- towards the rear of SUV) Acura Care/XM radio ANTENNA is missing?!!! WTH..
Here are a couple photo's that I captured with my cell phone (while risking the life of my 4 foot 11 inch frame climbing atop this massive 2.5 ton behemoth SUV) that shows the (Bali Blue colored) missing antenna cover:

My initial instinct was to blame it on the ghetto/city of Detroit, but what possible resale value could the roof mounted ANTENNA cover for an MDX's Acura Care/XM radio (thank goodness the GPS of our cars is located along the center console towards the front of our vehicles!!)...it's a very STRANGE problem b/c my XM radio is working perfectly fine- and the ONLY thing I can think of that might have caused BIZARRE PROBLEM this was this super-duper new touchless car wash that I had visited while travelling through Indiana last week- that seemed to be equipped with hurricane force like water jet streams and blowers?!!!!
So I now find myself at work, preoccupied/scrambling to search through eBay- looking at potential antenna covers for 2009 MDX's (problem is I don't really know what particular part(s) I should be look for, and/or what exactly I should be replacing?!!!)....the replacement (2007-2009 MDX) roof (XM) antenna appear to comprise whole units (not just the colored cover on top)- which for now doesn't appear to be what I really need?

One of my goto Acura suppliers (Curry Acura) has this part available- but why the heck does the diagram look nothing like the actual part in real life- is that a Honda/Acura thing/flaw (do their diagrams/pictures often times not look anything like the actual product?!)

Should I just take the cost effective/instant fix measure (go all out ghetto) and get this Shark Fin adhesive product from ebay which is adverstised to 'fit 2007-2009 MDX) and cover this open area (on roof of my 2009 Acura MDX) up?!!!

So in summary, it looks like (to no surprise) a separate 2007-2009 Acura MDX (OEM) XM radio antenna 'cover' isn't available to order- I have to buy the whole assembly (about $110 bucks- STEALERSHIP price for main assembly unit + bolt)- just placed an order online with CURRY Acura for about half this amount (including next day air shipping)- would rather do this than get the cheap China made 'shark fin' fake antenna from eBay!
NOTE TO SELF- never go back to that super duper heavy blaster touchless car wash again!!!
*or else this can happen- what's left of my roof mounted XM radio antenna (XM radio still functioning okay...lol):
