I took my MDX in at around 25,000 for the 22,500 service (basically an oil change) and the Acura dealer said that the "Bilstein Engine Flush" is "highly recommended" at 30,000 miles for the MDX.
I checked the recommended factory maintenance and it's not on there, and I got a flyer in the mail advising me of the 30,000 maintenance, it's not even on there.

Anyone know if the Bilstein Engine Flush is worthwhile, and if it would be of any benefit at 30,000 miles ? Seems awful soon to me to worry about "varnish buildup" in the engine.

Bilstein

My experience from the past on Bilstein is that the products are questionable, and I found the company to be unscrupulous in their handling of a warranty transfer I conducted years ago.

I can't speak of how they do business today because I have avoided them since my bad experience.

However, I have read reports on various aftermarket flushes, and other cure-all vehicle remedies produced by STP and others. I have not seen any test result yet saying that any of these products have any value.

To err on the safe side, I would stick to the owner's manual for service recommendations and schedules.

Just my nickel's worth.
