Maybe this is a freak thing, but I was running errands last night and today. I managed to drive around the two closest Acura dealers and I saw a total of 14 new MDXs. Most were still in "transport plastics" so they must have been dropped off recently.

This is BY FAR the largest number of MDX either dealer has ever had on the lot at any one time. I fully believe that all were probably spoken for.

I also saw TWO '01 MDXs that were available at the dealers, might have been demonstrators, but as neither was burdened with dealer installed options I'm guessing they are from customer turn-ins.

Perhaps a sign that production is FINALLY catching up with demand?

Anybody else spot more MDXs at dealers than in weeks past?

Truck load of MDX

I was driving to work this morning and saw a truck load of MDX, must have been at least 8 of them on the truck, together with some Odyssey!

Here in Southern California especially, I think supply is totally catching up with demand. I've been called by a number of Acura dealerships, some I'd visited as far back as 8 months ago, asking if I was still in the market for an MDX. Cerritos Acura told me they could get me one at MSRP, no add ons , in the color and equipment of my choice in 15-30 days!!......so supply is definitely improving....who knows, in a few months they might even start to "deal" on the price :)

Light at the end of the tunnel

My dealer says that the wait time is at about six months (here in the Northeast), which is better than the eight and one half that I waited last year. I have to believe that supply is finally approaching demand; I spot at least one MDX per day in the city, whereas before I'd be lucky to spot one every month! It kills me that some people complain about having to wait a few weeks...

i definitely believe MDXs are pretty much caught up to supply...the lists may have been long but i would bet that many people dropped out either cause they couldn't wait or their financial situations changed.

i got mine in a weekend, didn't even have to look very hard and i'm helping a friend shop for a TL and went to a couple of dealers this week and they all have some sitting on the lot.

the question is, is anybody getting MDXs below MSRP ???

i would bet by the summer, under MSRP deals will become common

AND by late summer all the '02s will be GONE and the "improved" '03s will be in short supply and the dealers will again return to their Malicious Dealer-initiated eXtortaion...

I just started calling around for an MDX since my lease on my GS300 is up in May. The first dealer I called in MA said that I wouldn't be able to get one until July if I were to order it now with Nav/Tour package. The base models were easier to get and available almost right away. Anyway, I called another dealer that said the same thing, when I told him what package and color I was looking for, he said he had a cancelation on one exactly what I wanted with NO DEALER installed options at sticker price being delivered in April!

Looks like I'll be in an MDX next month! :D

Made deposit in late Dec; called by dealer last month and told to expect between Aril 15 and May 15. Thats a month or two earlier than I'd been told in Dec, but doesn't seem they're exactly bringing them to WI by the dozen.

Raddray,

Congratulations! Welcome to the site.

I am only a few weeks away from my X also, but have been waiting since mid Jan. As you have discovered availability times have not changed much here in Mass. but people can get lucky with cancellations. I was offered a few myself but none were my color and model.

BTW what color X and model are you getting. Let us know when it arrives.

Of course, the day after this post I received a call saying the truck should arrive any time. Still wasn't there this morning, but no rush - no day off until 3/30, anyway.

Thanks wpf!

I spoke to the dealer today and he said it would be delivered at the end of the month.

:) Silver Touring/Nav... Sound familiar?

Nope, not Peabody. I was there this weekend and they were trying to sell me the base MDX with every single dealer installed option with 900 miles. Damn... the thing was listed at 43k? Crazy...

Anway, I have to drive out West to Auburn, MA to get mine. Exit 10 on the MASS pike.

Any idea on how the service dept is up in Peabody? I'm not planning on driving to Auburn for service... So I'm gonna either take it to Boston or Peabody... any suggestions?

This is my first Acura so I have no first hand experience with local dealer service. As Iam buying from Peabody I will start there. The dealer service ratings on acuramdx.org gives Peabody 5/5 and Boston 4/5(small sample though). Peabody is an "Acura Precision Team Dealership" for what that is worth?

I don't know how close you are to Nashua but they got a rating of 5/5. I've seen their shop and was impressed and they had the lowest service prices.

Maybe a post to Mass X owners is in order for their feedback?

BTW- I was at Peabody the other week and saw the base you mentioned. Certainly makes my wait less painful and makes you appreciate Tim.
