Anyone has experience putting up a Bare Roof rack on a 2011 MDX? Would you recommend this approach or would you stick to getting the rails installed OEM or otherwise?

I have the OEM roof rack with OEM adjustable cross bars on my 11 MDX. Are you thinking OEM roof rack and after market crossbars or 100% aftermarket for both?

Considering both. Need to eventually get a cargo box on it.

I went with OEM roof rails. Installed it last Fall. I bought my rails from alldiscountparts which had the cheapest price. I bought aftermarket cross bars from Ebay. I have not install it yet. I like the look of the OEM rails. The aftermarket crossbars looks like OEM but way cheaper $69.99. Rails installation wasn't that hard. I used the pdf instruction I downloaded from searching the Web.
